Service Manager 5.6A now fully accommodated the new Serialized Inventory and Lot Tracking features of IC 5.6A including the new SN and LT costing methods. This is a significant change for Service Manager 5.6A.
Note: Service Manager is written inside the SDK of Sage Accpac ERP 100/200/500, so version matching is critical. Service Manager 5.6A is not compatible with any Sage Accpac ERP 5.5 or earlier modules. Refer Version Compatibility.
Service Manager 5.6A is fully compliant with Sage Accpac ERP 5.6A and includes many new features.

All views have been upgraded to the 5.6A Template so they adopt current Sage Accpac ERP performance and enhancements, improved memory management, and new single stream Data Activation methods.

It is now possible to add multiple Internal Equipment to a job at once without the necessity of using Transfer function

Auto Create Equipment has been significantly enhanced to minimize user intervention.

As many of you are aware a completely new Job Manager Scheduling and Planning tool is in development.
We had hoped to include this program with today’s release of VM5.6A. Unfortunately the new Job Manager has not completed Quality Assurance testing yet and we could not hold up the release of VM 5.6A any longer. It is expected that we will make that program available with the first Product Update for 5.6A hopefully in two months time or earlier if we complete QA before then. We apologise for any inconvenience this might cause but we will not compromise the quality of the product in order to rush it to market.
Beta’s of the Job Manager are available on request if absolutely required for demonstration purposes to prospective clients.
All existing users current on Software Assurance will receive the new Job Manager free of charge as part of their annual subscription.
The new Job Manager has some exciting new features including, Outlook Calendar Screens, Outlook Sync, Google Maps and Routing support, Equipment and Sub-Contractor Scheduling, Microsoft Project like Task Scheduling and importantly lends itself to customization if required.
Please note that it is intended that the new Job Manager will be sold as a separate product to new customers in order to provide flexibility and value add to the sale. More on that including pricing before release.
Report Manager, Employee Web Portal and VM mobile R3 are now all 5.6A compliant and these will be available in our Business Partner area on the web site. If you do not have a registration login I ask you you to do so here.
